Passion-red lilies amid the splendor of Herkenrode
Passion-red lilies amid the splendor of Herkenrode - a person could not wish for more.
As a Bredefleur Friend (BFF), I had the opportunity to get creative with these amazing lilies in our trend color for 2023, passion red.
People who know me know that I am not someone who likes to dabble in technical feats. I could do it, after all, I have a master's degree in this field and have attended many workshops and master classes. But my great love is flowers. Let all those flowers bloom is my motto. Everything becomes more beautiful with flowers.
And these lilies are definitely no exception! Piece by piece, they are truly magnificent. Nature is one big miracle, for sure. These photos were taken in Belgium, in Herkenrode, more than a kilometer from my home. Today was one and all passion for me. As BFF (Bredefleur Friend), I made an arrangement in passion red, the Thursd Trend Color of the Year for flowers for 2023.
Gorgeous lilies in passion red
For next year, I believe that designs with flowers should start speaking their own language again. Powerful, one and all passion, embracing you, so to speak. Passion red is a pinkish-red hue that combines well with all kinds of other colors. When I saw that they have several red lilies at Bredefleur that matched this palette, I immediately asked for those varieties. When you buy lilies in bud, it takes a week for them to open. So I had to be patient for a while. But the wait was rewarded, and how! To be honest, lilies this big and this beautiful I have never seen before.
The perfect vase
A vase in red from Schott Zwiesel, I couldn't have wished for better. It is beautiful, even without flowers. Schott Zwiesel is a company that has been making crystal vases since 1872. Handmade always remains the most beautiful anyway. The vase is 60 cm tall, so it will come as no surprise that I was super happy with those long stems that lilies have and the big flowers they give.
Who or I am?
I am Regine Motmans. I live in Belgium, in Hasselt. Family is very important to me. And my second great love is floriculture. As liaison person for the flower trade at Thursd, I love being able to have contact with people from all over the world. Within the flower industry, we all have something in common that I love to see: we all have a passion for our work, a passion for flowers and a passion for connecting with everyone. So when Bredefleur launched this campaign with BFFs, I was in seventh heaven. My passion for flowers, the passion red launched this week as the trend color for flowers, plus the lilies: that's where this creation came from.
Thursd Floral's trend color for 2023 - passion red
Thursd unveils the Trend Color of the Year for flowers for 2023:
PASSION RED (#C61A3E) - Believe in your own power and commit to 110%. Red is the color of passion. A color that convinces, that shows the fire you have within you. The message for 2023 is: believe in your own power, commit to 110% and make your dream come true. Passion for the profession connects us and makes us stronger. Passion red is the trend color for flowers for 2023.
The significance of the 2023 Trend color palette
The 2023 Trend color palette features a bright peach shade as the color after passion red. Peach is a playful color that represents vitality and energy. Peach comes from nature, and this bright peach hue is a color that encourages. Following the peach shade is a warm, creamy color: cream, a soft but warm color that symbolizes personality and calmness. Because the earth's soil is so important to us, this earthy brown should not be missing from the palette. The earth is our most precious gift, and our passion should ensure that we are committed to preserving this planet. Brown is the color of resilience and of strength. Lavender represents purity, stillness, devotion and imperturbability. Last but not least is the color of turquoise chalk, the color of our oceans. Surface waters need to be clean again. Turquoise is the color that belongs to good emotional balance. Hopefully, together we know how to conceive a passion for good balance, in our own lives and for our planet, and for the future.
