Andrei Bindea: The Power of Lilies
When I opened the box of Bredefleur lilies, I immediately felt that familiar sense of excitement that only truly exceptional flowers can evoke. The buds were firm, the stems strong and the colors, WOW, it is as if the name of my store also carries that word: WOW, just to create that effect. These lilies are full of character. They are not just flowers, they are a presence.
A flower with a statement
I had the opportunity to work with several varieties of Bredefleur lilies and explore both minimalist and maximalist design styles. From airy, line-shaped compositions where a single lily became the focal point, to powerful, full bouquets with dozens of stems, each flower behaved exemplarily: long vase life, strong structure and a slow, elegant opening. The double-flowered varieties, with their lush layers and fragrant appearance, are simply spectacular. They give me the freedom to design with both strength and sophistication, without overpowering the senses. The lily used in these arrangements is the double-flowered OT variety Grand Amour.
Form, Intention and WOW
As a floral designer, it fascinates me how a flower can take up space. Bredefleur lilies do just that. Whether in a clean line composition, a Fibonacci-inspired spiral or a lush romantic arrangement, their geometry is perfect and their presence is magnetic. In my work, I have used them to show contrast and emotion:
-
Structure versus fluidity in sculptural vases
-
Strength versus softness in large round compositions
-
Passion versus elegance in mixed arrangements with deep red roses
Each time, they became the center of the story.
The power of lilies
There is something special about these lilies: they attract attention without asking for it. They are so powerful. Bredefleur understands that and has turned it into an art form. Haven't worked with their lilies yet? Then it's time to let them surprise you.
