Sofi: Shaped by emotion, my lil story

Lilies have always held a special place in my heart, particularly because of their fragrance and their quiet yet powerful presence.

There is something quiet and powerful about lilies. The way their petals bend with precision, how their scent lingers in the air long after you have left the room, how they seem to speak a language of strength without uttering a single word. I have loved them for as long as I can remember. To me, they are more than flowers; they are carriers of memories, emotions and presence.

At Sculpt Studio, my creative practice exists at the intersection of space, memory and emotion. Whether I am working in Amsterdam or Brussels, flowers are always part of the story. They do not merely decorate a space; they transform it. They carry energy. They mark moments.

When Bredefleur, known for their exceptional lilies, invited me to collaborate and become their BFF (Bredefleur Friend), I immediately said yes. Their varieties Zambesi Supra, Lasting Love and Carbonero Each brings its own story. Powerful and architectural, soft and romantic. Together, they became the heart of a floral series that is deeply personal to me.

This project is about more than design. It is a dialogue. An encounter between the art of cultivation and the sensitivity of floral composition. Each lily I received carried the grower’s story within it: care, dedication, patience. My role was to listen with my hands and heart, and to let the flowers lead the way.

The work of Sculpt Studio goes beyond traditional floral design. It is a sculptural practice rooted in a deep sensitivity to natural materials and their emotional resonance. By combining flowers, fruit, vegetables and dried botanicals, the creations become more than arrangements. They are immersive compositions that invite a new way of seeing and engaging with the natural world.

Each piece is guided by the quiet power of imperfection, seasonality and texture. They offer not only beauty, but also presence. Whether it is a monumental installation or an intimate floral sculpture, the work evokes stories through nature. By integrating sustainable materials and elements of plant care, Sculpt Studio creates space for emotional connection and interaction, where nature is not the backdrop but the medium itself.

I shaped each arrangement to honour that: the quiet self-assurance, the flowing strength and the beauty that does not need to shout.
